Travel is one of the best things that anyone can do. I honestly believe that. However, most people will tell you the zillion reasons why you shouldn’t and it puts you down, like too expensive, you don’t have enough time, etc. I know, I’ve been there and heard it all before. It really isn’t a fun place to be, let me tell you!
Today, that ALL changes! I’m going to motivate and possibly even inspire you into action by giving 5 totally awesome reasons why YOU should absolutely be travelling more.
Are ready to get motivated??
Too be inspired??
Okay! Let’s do this!
Reason 1 || To Experience a Different Culture.
Okay, I don’t know about you, but this is one of my favourite things about visiting different countries or even different towns and cities. No matter where you go, there is always something that slightly different from home, from accents, language, fashion, shops, how they interact with each other and food and drink.
The best way to experience this is to spend an hour or so in cafe or restaurant and just observe and let the world pass you by and see how local or even other tourists, like you and me, go about their everyday life while enjoying all the good of the local food and drinks!
Reason 2 || A Change of Scenery
You know the feeling when you’re just fed-up and bored. All you want to do is just to get away from the same old places, like your workplace or even your own home. So, sometimes a change of scenery can be the thing you need.
Personally, I find getting away from the places of everyday life can do wonders for my peace of mind as I’m not worrying about what is happening at work or at home. After being away for a few days, I generally come back refreshed and ready for whatever life wants throw at me, in the terms of my day job.
Reason 3 || There is SO much to See, Discover and Explore.
If you only take one reason from this list to motivate your butt to go travelling more, it should be the one.
There is SO much more to a country, to a region, to a town or city, to a resort than just the swimming pool and the beach. Now, don’t get wrong, I know that there are thousands of people who’s perfect vacation is to chillax by the pool and beach and I get why they do that. I really do. I would quite happy to spend a day or two doing the exact same thing.
However, on the flip side, I’m not the kind of traveller, I love exploring and learning the history of that particular country, region, town or city , resorts, sights and attractions. Also, one of my “pet hates” is when people say when they visit somewhere but didn’t really visit that somewhere properly. That’s just me and my opinion.
Reason 4 || Learn About & Challenge Yourself.
Another big one, in my personal opinion. However, this is properly one the biggest reasons why I haven’t travelled as I have wanted to at this point and something I want to change. The reasons around I personally haven’t done it yet mostly involves around the fear of that I have never travelled by myself and I worry about what my family and friends would think.
Okay, I know what you are all thinking. There are stupid reasons why I haven’t tried to challenge myself. Ask any solo traveller and ask them are they worried about what they worried about before taking that solo trip. I’m pretty sure that they’ll tell you that they have the same fear that I do.
However, I want to learn about myself as person, how I react to different situations. To learn about these things, I need to challenge myself to take the plague and travel solo, at least once, despite my silly and irrational fears.
Reason 5 || Life is too Short.
Again, another biggie. However, this is very very true to so many people and to so many things, not just travel. For me, this is ONE reason why every single person in this world needs to travel more.
Most people, these days tend to travel when they are older or in their retirement before they even consider to explore and discover what the world has to offer. To me, it is absolutely crazy to think like that. With retirement age keep going up, making us work longer and harder for money. You need to ask yourself why are you waiting that long to pursue your travel bucket list.
At the end of the day, we only have ONE life and it it up to us on how we live our lives. It’s up to us to make the time, save the cash, to plan and book our trips to the various parts of the world which is waiting for us to explore and experience.
It is for this reason that why I started Floss’ Adventures to be more accountable to travel the world and share my stories, experiences and what I have learnt to inspire and empower people, like you, to do the exact same thing.
Okay, let’s recap. (or if you just skipped to the bottom) .
